Riis has high expectations for Sagan, Contador in 2015

Although he won his third straight points classification in the Tour de France this season, Peter Sagan lacked the volume of victories of his previous seasons, but his new Tinkoff-Saxo team manager Bjarne Riis has high hopes that the Slovakian champion will turn his luck around in 2015. Riis also supports the plan to field 2014 Vuelta a Espaa winner Alberto Contador in both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France, saying that it is worth the risk.

Lance Armstrong attempts "Beer Mile", fails miserably

Lance Armstrong is no stranger to taking substances in preparation for sporting competition, but it seems that that a can of beer is a hindrance to the American, who failed miserably in attempting to qualify for the Beer Mile world championships. The Beer Mile consists of swigging a can of beer at the beginning of each quarter-mile lap of a running track, but, apparently, Armstrong is not cut out for such a sporting challenge.

Armstrong joined a group of five other runners hoping to earn a spot in the field for the Dec. 3 event that will be held at Yellow Jacket Stadium in Austin. They all drank their first beer and then took off running for the first of four laps around the track.

Big Tex is banned from participating in any cycling events thanks to is history with performance-enhancing drugs, but decided to participate in the beer mile run at a race near his home in Texas, in a bid to qualify for the world championships.
